Killing Eve's Jodie Comer Shares An Unexpected Shrek Ambition
Whether it's a live-action movie or another animated one, we're here to see it!
Jodie Comer, who recently won the Olivier Award for Best Actress, has proven herself to audiences in major roles such as Villanelle in Killing Eve and Marguerite de Carrouges in Ridley Scott 's The Last Duel.
Comer quickly gained a following and has never been shy about talking about her acting accomplishments and her ambitions for future projects.
This one, however, may be the one that has everyone most excited.
In her recent interview with Josh Horowitz, better known as the host of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Jodie admitted that she hopes to be involved in every Shrek project.
However, she has no such passion for any side stories or sequels like Puss In The Boots: the actress is truly dedicated and only loyal to the green ogre franchise.
"I don't even need a live-action, guys. They're gonna bring out, like, the fifth one soon, right? I just want to be a voice," the actress laughed along with the audience, answering Horowitz's question. "I'm just Shrek all the way".
The release of Shrek 5 has been rumored for many years, but production has always been pushed back to later years.
Like many other Hollywood projects, this animated movie has been hit hard by COVID, so even though there is a script ready, it is still not in production.
However, a recent update from Antonio Banderas has made fans even more excited about the possibility of another Shrek movie.
"I've been with this cat for almost 20 years. The first time I did Puss in Boots, I was working on broadway, so I did my first session there. I've done five movies now. There is probably gonna be another, and [Shrek] is probably coming back," the actor said to the audiences at the Red Sea Film Festival in December 2022, according to Deadline.
Hopefully, the hopes of both Shrek fans and Jodie Comer will pay off and we'll get some news about the production of Shrek 5 soon.
Until then, keep an eye out for more information on the actress' upcoming projects.
