Jurassic World 4 May Repeat the Same Trick That Saved Godzilla 10 Years Ago
We just need another miracle!
Summary:
- Jurassic World 4 may start filming this summer.
- Fans of the franchise are worried if the movie will be better than the last one.
- There’s only one hope: Gareth Edwards and his unique directing skills.
When it comes to major franchises, it’s always tricky how they live: there are so many complaints from fans (mainly about the story), but they still keep watching every new installment, thus chipping in for more chapters.
One of the best examples of the case is actually the Jurassic Park franchise, which is more than 30 years old and has grossed $5.67 billion at the global box office.
The original movie directed by Steven Spielberg was released in 1993 and is a 92% rated gem that is still considered a cult classic.
The movie was followed with two less successful sequels, though, and probably that’s why Universal stopped making more for a while. However, in 2015 the company revived the franchise and Jurassic World came out.
The movie was also pretty well-received, getting 71% on Rotten Tomatoes. But the story repeated the two following sequels, which ended up disappointing. So that’s why the fans were worried to hear that a new installment is in the works.
What Do We Know About Jurassic World 4?
It has been already established that the new movie is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
Once the fans of the franchise learned who would be the next director of the Jurassic movie, they felt better. It was announced in February that the iconic Gareth Edwards will join the film’s team as the director.
The best thing in the story is that the man himself is so thrilled to create a new movie in the franchise, and seems like he has big plans to make it great again. The fans already have their hopes high because once Edwards already did the same trick with another huge franchise gone bad.
How Can Gareth Edwards Save Jurassic World 4?
The movie we are talking about is 2014's Godzilla. The thing is, the Edwards-directed film stands out from the rest of the franchise, going back to the roots of the iconic creature and stressing his role as a being of destruction and terror. This is exactly what was needed at the time to get audiences obsessed with Godzilla movies again.
And now the fans just want him to do the same magic and save the Jurassic World franchise, adding a completely new story and not continuing it from the last installment.
All the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies are available to stream on Prime.
