Julie Bowen Reveals Her Kids' Favorite Show, and It's Not Modern Family
Modern Family may have won a few Emmys, but that is not a good enough reason for Julie Bowen's children to watch it. These kids sure have high standards!
Modern Family is an American sitcom that ran for 11 seasons and received critical acclaim on numerous occasions.
In an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, actress Julie Bowen, who played Claire Dunphy on the show, shares that her kids have never watched the series that basically made her famous.
It must hurt to have your own children not appreciate your work…
Bowen talks about how her kids have watched the entirety of The Office ( supposedly their favorite show), or how they see some cool show and are amazed by it, while also completely ignoring the series starring their mom.
Rough, isn't it? For crying out loud, she won an Emmy (twice!) for her role and was nominated six times total!
Fans have made assumptions about Julie's sons' reasoning. Maybe they aren't rushing to watch Modern Family because they know that their mom plays Claire, and Claire hasn't always been the most likable character? Could be.
Others cut to the chase and say that whoever doesn't love the show "isn't a trustable person." Well, then we have bad news about your kids, Julie…
Some people poke fun at Bowen for being "brave enough" to admit that her children like The Office better than her own show. Well, perhaps the actress just takes after her character in terms of brutal honesty (which is not a bad thing).
After Modern Family ended in 2020, Julie Bowen had a few guest roles on television – for instance, she appeared as Gabby McAfee in Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2021. She has also been cast in a few movies, including Mixtape and The Fallout.
The Modern Family actress has been tapped to become an executive producer of Disney 's Prom Pact, which is set to come out on March 31.
Maybe her kids will watch it since she is not starring in it?
The show may be over, but Bowen is doing pretty well for herself. Good job, Julie! Don't let your kids discourage you from creating great things.
