After playing Leonard Hofstadter on the Big Bang Theory for 12 years Galecki amassed a net worth estimated to be in the region of $100 million.

He also amassed a vast amount of spat-out chewing gum in one part of the set that was unseen by fans but a regular haunt of the cast.

It was a running theme throughout the show that the characters had to take the stairs because the elevator was broken.

As Kunal Nayyar explained to The Daily Express recently, those stairs that we see Sheldon and co go up and down don't actually lead anywhere.

That's no great surprise. We were all pretty clear this was just a sitcom set. But, of course, the 'stairs' area is one that is hidden away from the cameras and never actually seen.

And it appears that Galecki chewed a lot of gum while on set. Most of which – according to Nayyar – was subsequently spat out and stuck on the unseen wall in the 'stairs' area of the set.

"I'm not joking; there's a wall of 3,000 dried chewing gum from Johnny Galecki," he said. "So if any of you are Johnny Galecki fans and you want his dried chewing gum, I am sure it's for sale somewhere on the internet. Welcome to Hollywood."

We can only imagine what that wall of three thousand chewed gums looked like. Pretty gross, eh? The reasons why Galecki chose to dispose of his gum in this way are not really clear.

Neither is why this gross habit was allowed to continue for so long (well, apart from him being one of the biggest stars in an incredibly successful award-winning show that pulled in millions of viewers and won loads of awards).

But it turns out that Galecki isn't the only star with gross habits.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Matthew McConaughey shower only twice a week and do not use deodorant. Megan Fox rarely flushes the toilet, Adele picks her nose and Jessica Simpson doesn't brush her teeth.

None of this should come as a surprise to any of us, of course. Despite their undoubted talent, all of these stars are just ordinary people.

And you don't have to know too many 'ordinary' people to realise that a fair number of them have some pretty gross habits.

In fact, it seems unlikely that Johnny Galecki was the only one on the set of TBBT that had a habit that the rest of the cast found a little distasteful.
