John Stamos Fired Olsen Twins From Full House For The Most Ridiculous Reason
It's not like things would've been different with any other children actors.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were the biggest stars of their time in children's and family television.
From Full House, an iconic sitcom, to the variety of 90's movies with crazy storylines and huge success with audiences.
Many speculate that starting out in the entertainment industry is what made them face some mental health issues and eventually step out of the spotlight in the first place, but all the projects they were involved in hold a place in the hearts of viewers.
The twins' career began on the set of Full House at the tender age of 11 months, where they portrayed Danny and Pam Tanner's youngest daughter, Michelle.
It's not uncommon for TV productions to hire twins to work with the young children, so as not to overwhelm them with work and keep the filming going.
However, having two babies on set means twice as many problems, twice as many dirty diapers, and twice as much crying.
Anyone who deals with babies on a daily basis would not find crying to be a particularly pleasant sound.
Josh Stamos, however, did not handle it well and could not concentrate on the job to the point where he simply demanded that they be gone.
"They were 11 months old, and god bless them. They kept switching: 'This one's not gonna cry.' I couldn't deal with it. And I said, 'This is not gonna work,' and I screamed it 10 times. I said, 'Get rid of them, I can't work like this.' And so they got rid of them," the actor told The Good Guys Podcast.
It's not exactly clear what Stamos thought of other babies, but it turned out that the replacements found for the Olsen twins didn't work out so well.
Though it was difficult to film and concentrate on work in the presence of babies, the adults had no choice. So Mary-Kate and Ashley were brought back and actually stayed in the Full House cast until the end of the show in 1995.
If you're feeling nostalgic and want to watch Full House again, you can stream the show on Hulu, Netflix or MAX.
