If all Harry Potter fans can agree on something, then it's their stance on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child — a Hogwarts drama that somehow made it to the official release in the form of a separate book and an actual play.
Cursed Child has been a part of the Harry Potter franchise that some people just chose to ignore and pretend it never existed.
According to Wizarding World fans, Cursed Child is "an abomination" that "ruins" the canon in all possible ways, starting from Voldemort having a daughter and finishing with whatever that writing style is. Many refer to the play and the book as "exceptionally bad fan fiction", while others wonder how could Rowling even greenlight something like that.
"I doubt she'll ever address anything regarding CC's quality, because no matter how involved she was in it, at the end of the day, what matters is the money it gave her," Redditor UltHamBro suggested, in line with many fans' opinion that Rowling was simply "changed" by fame and fortune.
Others are adamant in their intention to ignore Cursed Child.
"I have absolutely no idea what you Are talking about. Clearly there are only 7 Harry Potter books and JKR never, and I repeat, NEVER wrote anything after that," Redditor Dirkem96 said.

Cursed Child play was written by Jack Thorne from an original story by him, J. K. Rowling, and John Tiffany. Rowling's involvement into the story remains unclear. The play premiered in London in July 2016, with the script later released in a form of a book. While critics welcomed the play, Harry Potter fans remain highly skeptical of the script up to these days.
