Is there anything more about the Winchester brothers to tell?

Summary:

  • Supernatural is The CW hit that has been airing from 2005 to 2020, and gathered a large fanbase throughout the years.
  • Lately, fans have been gathering hints that could point to an upcoming revival or a reunion project for the show.
  • Yet, nothing has been officially confirmed by either one of the cast members or the production team.

The CW became home to many young adult favorites in the 2000s and 2010s. Supernatural, a show that focused on the lives of two brothers who traveled the country fighting demons, was just one of them, but it created one of the most powerful and proactive fanbases out there.

Both Dean and Sam Winchester, portrayed by Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, as well as Castiel, portrayed by Misha Collins, would always be welcome back with some sort of revival or reunion. At least that is what fans of the show try to convince themselves.

In reality, the fear of any additional content following in the footsteps of The Winchesters and turning out just as bad as the failed spinoff almost prevents the audience from any excitement. Even though there are some hints that something great is being prepared for them right now.

Supernatural Season 16 Clues

While some fans are reluctant to indulge their fantasies too early, lest they be disappointed in the end, others are chasing down every clue and trying to find out more. This dedication only goes to show how well the revival would be received if done right. So far, there have been at least three hints that could indicate that Supernatural has something up its sleeve.

First of all, both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki teased it at a recent convention, with Ackles saying that the show is "just setting up the return at some point." That's a very small hint that could have been a joke, but in addition to that, everything else starts to make a little more sense.

Another interesting post came from Misha Collins on X (formerly known as Twitter), as the actor celebrated the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike by mentioning Supernatural and Castiel out of nowhere.

“The @sagaftra strike is over and I'm relieved about two things,” Collins wrote. “First, I am no longer prohibited by the union from saying things like "Castiel" and “Supernatural" and “Get out of my ass,” and second, I am relieved that I can finally go from being a striking actor to an unemployed actor!”

Of course, considering how actively he's been interacting with his fan base all along, this could have been a gesture to celebrate with them as well.

The thing that ties up all of the fans' doubts is the post on the official Supernatural account on Instagram. The account posted a reel with the caption "And the story continues", which sent many fans into detective mode, trying to figure out what is about to happen.

Whether you believe all these clues or think they're the result of wishful thinking, it's always helpful to keep an eye out to make sure you don't miss any important Supernatural updates. Until there are any confirmations, you can binge-watch all 15 seasons by streaming them on Netflix.
