Bryan Singer's reputation just took another hit thanks to Jennifer Lawrence's viral comments.

Jennifer Lawrence 's comments about X-Men director Bryan Singer have recently gone viral. Singer, who has faced various allegations over the years, worked with Lawrence on the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past and the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse. Lawrence made the comments about Singer while discussing her experience working with a female director on her new movie, Causeway, during a roundtable discussion for The Hollywood Reporter.

According to Lawrence, the experience of working with a female director was a refreshing change from her previous experiences with male directors.

"We had a female director," Lawrence said. "The schedule made sense. There were no huge fights. […] And it did always just make us laugh about how we ended up with, 'Women shouldn't be in roles like this because we're so emotional.' I mean, I've worked with Bryan Singer. I've seen emotional men. I've seen the biggest hissy fits thrown on set," the actress added.

She went on to say that her female directors were "the calmest, best decision-makers" she has ever worked with, seemingly in contrast to her experiences with Singer.

"It was incredible to not be around toxic masculinity, to get a little break from it," Lawrence admitted.

Although we're almost in 2023, the idea of women being "too emotional" to be successful directors or film executives is still persistent in the industry and as harmful as ever, once again reinforcing the gender-based discrimination that many women face in the film industry. By suggesting that women are not fit to be directors, it sends the message that they are not worthy of equal opportunities and respect in the workplace. This is not only unfair, but it also deprives the industry of the valuable perspectives and talents of female filmmakers.

Lawrence's comments and not-so-subtle shade she's thrown at X-Men director have sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many people praising Lawrence for speaking out about the challenges women face in the film industry. Others have called for more action to be taken against men like Bryan Singer, who have been accused of misconduct.

Regardless of the reactions to Lawrence's comments, it is clear that the actress is dedicated to using her platform to advocate for gender equality in the entertainment industry. By speaking out about her experiences and supporting female filmmakers, Lawrence is helping to pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable industry.
