Jamie Will Yee His Last Haw Sooner Than You Thought, Yellowstone Star Says
Looks like we might want to prepare ourselves for the summer 2023 drama.
With Yellowstone on its midseason break, Wes Bentley, who plays Jamie Dutton on the show, is teasing a darker ending for his character. Apparently, Jamie is not exactly in a safe place, and Bentley suggests that he may not make it to the end of the series.
"I think he has seen himself [dead] from before the beginning of the season. He's already end-gamed what is happening to him. He knows what's coming and he's trying to get what he can out of it by making some moves and taking opportunities," the actor told Deadline.
Bentley may be on to something, as he also mentioned that series co-creator and showrunner Taylor Sheridan already knows how the Yellowstone story will end. Of course, the actor didn't spill the beans, but many fans have speculated that Jamie definitely won't survive Sheridan's planned finale.
Yellowstone, which is currently on hiatus, has weathered much fan criticism since the beginning of its fifth season. According to fans, the show has already run out of story and needs to end, as the entire season has been "boring" and "uneventful.
Even the mid-season finale, which aired in early January, failed to deliver any much-anticipated surprises — except for a small glimpse of the attorney and his new love interest's plan to indict John.
Fans feel that only a major death will save the show and make it exciting again. Who knows, maybe that big death will be Jamie Dutton's?
Yellowstone will return with the second part of Season 5 in the summer of 2023, with an exact premiere date to be announced later.
