James Gunn Sheds Light On The Doom Patrol Final Episodes’ Status
The head of DC Studios assures fans that despite the six-month hiatus, the season has not been canceled.
After more than half a year since the release of the first part of the final fourth season of Doom Patrol, a superhero TV series based on DC Comics characters, fans were growing increasingly concerned that the rest of the season had been quietly canceled.
However, James Gunn, who is now the head of DC Studios, reassured fans in his Threads post that there's no need to panic. According to him, the remaining six episodes "are absolutely NOT being shelved," although the official release date has yet to be announced.
So apparently it is only a matter of time before fans get a long overdue conclusion to the TV series, which has been a huge relief for them.
They expect the series to wrap things up nicely, as Doom Patrol was always intended to be a four-season series, which helped it avoid the fate of countless other shows that were unnecessarily dragged out.
The series has managed to remain consistently good throughout its run, so hopefully the finale won't ruin it. Moreover, Joivan Wade, who portrays Cyborg in the series, has previously promised fans that it will be " satisfactory for the fans" and that the series will come full circle.
However, some fans still took Gunn's statement with a grain of salt, saying that you can never be 100% sure with Warner Bros.
David Zaslav has built up quite a reputation among fans after some of his more questionable decisions, such as canceling the already completed Batgirl movie. So viewers remain skeptical that Doom Patrol will not suffer the same fate.
The first six episodes of Doom Patrol season 4 were released from December 8, 2022 to January 5, 2023.
The release date for the remaining six episodes has not yet been announced.
