It’s Official: Morbius and Venom Are In The Same Universe
Vampiric anti-hero Michael Morbius and simbiont Venom are both Spider-Man’s archenemies. However, fans have long been guessing the extent of connection between the two.
No more doubts: Sony appears to have confirmed that Morbius and Venom are both in the same universe.
Speaking to CinemaBlend, the director of ‘Morbius’, Daniel Espinosa, said that Jared Leto ’s vampire exists in the same universe where ‘Venom’ and its sequel take place.
“Morbius lives in the same universe as Venom. This is the universe we saw Venom exit at the end of Venom: Let there be Carnage and return to at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.“
But which Spider-Man exists in Venom’s universe, one might ask? Well, not so fast.
"It is my understanding that audiences will discover the answer soon,” was all that Espinosa had to say about that.
And it’s not like it helped the fans in their guesses a lot.
Not everyone cares this much, though.
Perhaps some people’s little interest is due to a lack of positive early reviews for ‘Morbius’. After its early screenings, the movie does not seem to be very successful among the fans: many people have criticized the storyline, the visual effects, the post-credit scene… well, they criticized pretty much everything.
Still, ‘Morbius’ is to officially premiere on April 1 - so you still have some time to ravel in those Twitter theories and spoilers before you get to make up your mind about the movie.
