Ironically, Ted Lasso's kindness turned Nate Shelley into a bitter man. But how did the system crash?

Coach Ted somehow unintentionally has changed some lives in the series.

And while most of these changes were actually some kind of an upgrade for the characters, one man managed to downgrade himself after close contact with the protagonist.

Nate Shelley went from the club's old kit man to resentful, and spiteful assistant coach. Yes, he climbed up a career ladder, but as a person he had gotten really low.

And fans are confident that something needs to be done about that.

We remember that season 2 ended with Nate not just leaving Richmond, but accepting the head coach position at West Ham United (which is now owned by Rupert, the smug and spiteful ex-husband of Richmond owner Rebecca Welton) in what seems to be mostly a chance to defeat Ted.

And as it turned out, a lot of fans don't believe in the "forgive and forget" concept Lasso lives by and don't want Nate to be welcomed back, neither to Richmond, nor to Ted's life.

"I really want that if Ted forgives him (and he probably will even though he really shouldn't), that he also has enough self-respect and self-esteem to also say "but you're no longer welcome in my life". I want Ted to respect himself enough to have some god damn boundaries," Reddit user CaseyRC said.

To most fans, Nate's time with West Ham will ultimately show him how destructive his actions have been.

And actually Rupert may help here, because knowing him, he will most definitely start to treat Nate poorly enough.

And true fans can already see that happening.

"My prediction is going to be that West Ham is going to be playing Richmond, and they're going to be winning handedly, but Nate benches and humiliates one of his players for some dumb ass reason, so the rest of the team decides to "strike" and throws the rest of the game and Richmond ends up winning. Nate will get sacked by Rupert and hit rock bottom," Reddit user SleepWouldBeNice imagined.

So yes, maybe at first coach Nate will get some success, but in the end, the path he chose will definitely prove him to be wrong… or so we hope.
