Is There Even a Chance For Bridgerton S4 At This Point?
Justice for Benedict!
Summary:
- Bridgerton is a romantic period drama television series based on Julia Quinn's series of novels of the same name.
- The seasons of the show follow the same structure as the book, with each new season devoted to a different sibling's love story.
- It was decided to bring the fourth book forward for a third season, replacing Benedict's love story with Colin's.
- Fans were hoping to see Benedict's season next, but with the delayed release of season 3, those hopes began to fade.
One thing that Bridgerton fans found hard to believe about the show from the beginning is that Netflix would let it run for all 8 seasons and adapt all 8 books for all 8 siblings.
While Shonda Rhimes' ambitious plans were exciting, to say the least, and the overwhelming response from the audience made it seem like anything was possible, Netflix never got too many people to trust them when it came to releases and cancellations. The years have proven that to be very true.
Bridgerton got off to a rough start, first having to work through the pandemic rules, and now the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but it was not that, but Shondaland's desire to experiment that caused even the original fans to slowly turn their backs on all the release news.
Starting season 2 with Anthony and Kate being ruined by the Featheringtons and their useless storyline, and then swapping out the fan-favorite Cinderella-type story of Benedict to push Colin and Penelope forward were both very unpopular and controversial decisions. The slow pace of production only added to the exhaustion.
When Will Bridgerton Season 4 Be Out?
If the latest leak about season 3 premiering in two parts on May 16 and June 11 is correct, then it would be safe to assume that season 4 will be released in the late spring or summer of 2026. As much as everyone would like to stay positive, the increasing gap between seasons doesn't leave much room for hope.
The two siblings most likely to be the focus of season 4 are Benedict and Eloise. While both certainly deserve their own seasons, it's hard to even think about the possibility of Bridgerton being renewed for season 5, so it may be necessary for the producers to do the joint season to tie up all the loose ends.
Even though Netflix officially renewed Bridgerton for season 4 a while ago, that doesn't mean the show is safe from cancellation. Judging by the audience's reception and willingness to wait for more, there is a chance that Bridgerton will be canceled against all promises, just like it happened with GLOW.
Of course, Benedict and Eloise's fans are doing their best to remain positive about the changes and are bravely looking forward to the future. Be sure to stay tuned for all the news and behind-the-scenes updates, lest you miss another promising leak.
