Is 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' Renewed For The Second Season?
Paramount+'s new sci-fi series just finished its first season, and millions of viewers want to know if Captain Christopher Pike and his crew will return for more action.
The 'Star Trek ' franchise has been a major force on television since the first series was released in 1966, but it seems that only now has the space opera been able to carve its place in the peak TV era. There had been several relatively successful 'Star Trek' series on Paramount + before 2022, and the franchise was already on the rise, but the debut of 'Strange New Worlds' this year really changed everything. The Anson Mount- led series once again made fans fall in love with the prospect of exploring galaxies, meeting new alien species and everything else associated with the original series starring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. So, after a successful first season, will 'Strange New World' return?
Fans and critics alike loved the series, and Paramount seems to have been more than happy with its performance on its fledgling streaming network, but news of a second season renewal has fans waiting in vain. In fact, the series was renewed even before it premiered, with news dating from January of this year.
And, more importantly, it looks like fans won't have to wait long for season two, as filming has already wrapped at the end of June. Perhaps Anson Mount and Co. will hit home screens this fall?
