There’s always a chance for a reunion.

While there are many shows that have been on the air a little too long and have definitely outstayed their welcome, there is another side to the same coin. The shows that only get one season, but become so beloved by so many viewers that they need several more.

Many of those who remember the origins of Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones will tell you that BBC Three and Hulu 's TV series Normal People fits perfectly into the latter category. Based on the 2018 novel by Sally Rooney, the show was sweet and relatable to many young adult viewers who faced the same issues as the main characters.

It was a vague and ambiguous open ending that left fans of the show wanting more for the past four years.

One of the comforting news is the fact that the two series' leads have stayed in touch throughout the years of their friendship. This made their recent reunion not as surprising as it could have been, but still intriguing. The majority of fans have already given up on the idea of a second season, but this announcement gave them a little hope.

Unfortunately, there are still no plans to bring Marianne and Connell back to our screens. As both actors clarified in a now-deleted Instagram story, they're sorry for misleading fans with their previous posts, but there's still plenty of time for season 2. So if you were hoping for a full-on reunion on set, don't stop believing.

For now, however, the cast is urging all Normal People fans to enter the raffle to win tickets to the charity marathon screening of all 12 episodes of the show in London.

By entering the raffle, fans of the show will have the chance to win a ticket and attend the event alongside Mescal and Edgar-Jones, as well as director Lenny Abrahamson and EP Ed Guiney. All donations are going toward Pieta, Ireland’s suicide and self-harm prevention charity, and UNICEF.
