Is It Finally Time For Suicide Squad To Be Redeemed? New DC Trailer Hints at Yes
This is exactly what you never thought you needed, but won’t be able to skip now.
With all the buzz surrounding the DCEU reboot that started with the Flash movie and received a mixed reception from both audiences and critics, many people continue to discuss what is next for DC fans.
What no one expected, however, was a collaboration with an anime studio that would finally do justice to the most overused characters of all time. That is exactly the concept that was unveiled this week at Anime Expo 2023.
The internet went head over heels when DC dropped the first trailer for the newest Suicide Squad reboot: Suicide Squad ISEKAI done in collaboration with Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio.
No matter how much anime-styled fanart was floating around the internet, no one could expect a whole new series in the fan-favorite genre.
After the 2016 Suicide Squad movie turned out to be a complete failure, only managing to get a 26% rating from critics, many fans started to think that there was nothing that could redeem the story of their favorite characters and do them justice.
For a while, it felt like audiences didn't need the duo of Harley Quinn and The Joker anymore, preferring to see Harley on her own. A much higher rating for Birds of Prey suggests that Jared Leto 's Joker just wasn't doing it for the fans, so his return as the lead has been out of the question ever since.
Now, with a fresh start, a new animation style, and a very upbeat pace, both the Joker and Harley Quinn have a chance to win back the hearts of the audience.
Besides, DC is sure to win the never-ending race against Marvel by introducing something so wild in the concept that no one could have predicted it.
Unfortunately, as of now, there’s no information on the series’ release date. Keep an eye out for more news and behind-the-scenes update to not miss Suicide Squad ISEKAI premiere.
