Is General Hospital's Most Cherished Couple Already Doomed?
Hold on tight, as you may not like what’s coming.
From the beginning of Spencer and Trina's relationship, General Hospital fans fell in love with them and became very protective of the couple. #Sprina is one of the most beloved pairings in the fandom, and it feels like one of the main reasons a lot of people are still invested in the show.
No matter how bad or repetitive all the other storylines get, there will always be a bit of Spencer and Trina to spice things up, right?
Well, the bad news is that the relationship between these two characters is skating on thinner ice than ever with the latest developments in their storylines.
While Spencer is still holding the evidence behind Trina's back, she might not be too happy when she finds out. And as soap tends to do, it will happen sooner rather than later.
According to Nicholas Chavez, the actor who plays Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital, all the problems between him and Trina stem from the difference in their moral codes. He explained their differences in a brief conversation with Soap Opera Digest:
“It’s interesting because Spencer and Trina are so attracted to each other and they have a deep love and a deep care for one another. But in terms of a value system, there is some crossover, but then there is this whole other side of each of them that doesn’t come into contact with one another,” the actor said.
Based on those words, you might think their relationship was doomed from the start, but there's certainly a level of deep connection that's worth fighting for, no matter how hard it is.
Whether Spencer and Trina will stand strong and deal with the consequences of Spencer keeping the evidence against Esme, or whether they will break up under the pressure, we'll have to wait and see.
Either way, this storyline promises an emotional and eventful journey that soap opera fans tend to appreciate the most.
Tune in to ABC Monday through Friday to not miss another episode of General Hospital and see what's in store for #Sprina.
