If The Idol's Sex Scenes Cringe You Out, Just Watch The Great Instead 

With the second episode of The Idol TV series starring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp surprisingly failing to live up to its initial scandalous reputation by delivering what some are calling "the worst sex scene in history."

The scene in question, for some reason, is limited to foreplay and pans away just as the main action begins, leaving fans even more disappointed in an already controversial show.

The series, which was billed as a risky project with some very explicit scenes, ended up being a nothing burger with just a little nudity and the main character Jocelyn occasionally pleasuring herself, at least for now.

So, surprisingly, viewers came up with another TV series that wasn't nearly as controversial when it came out, but showed "debauchery and sex done right."

The Great, a satirical comedy-drama from Hulu loosely based on the life of Russian Empress Catherine the Great, portrayed by Elle Fanning, has everything The Idol lacks, they say.

The show recently got its third season in May and has proven to be not only one of the best TV shows in recent memory, with Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, who plays Peter III, being absolutely adorable on screen, but also a very sex-driven show where it moves the plot forward.

Fans describe it as smart, political, funny and sexy all at the same time, and the well-written characters and story make it both over the top and very introspective.

Unfortunately, it lacks the popularity of The Idol, which recently surpassed other HBO hits Euphoria and The White Lotus, perhaps because it's a (vaguely) historical series, but according to fans, if you're willing to overlook that aspect and give it a chance, you won't regret it.

The Great hasn't been renewed for a fourth season yet, while the fate of The Idol season 2 hangs in the balance due to reported conflicts between the creators.

Episode 3 of the first season will be released on June 18, 2023.
