Iconic 100%-Rated Detective Show Secretly Joins Hulu After Years on Max

The Mentalist Expands Its Dominion Again

Recently, The Mentalist became available on Hulu. Unlike other popular detective shows like BBC’s Sherlock ( which now returned!), The Mentalist never had an issue with being represented on several platforms at once. The series was already available on Max, Roku, Vudu, Apple TV, and Prime Video, but now, its dominion expanded again by joining Hulu as well.

The Mentalist is often named among the best detective shows of this century, featuring a unique protagonist, strong overarching plot, and the perfect mix of light-hearted humor and serious topics. All The Mentalist’s seasons have great scores on Rotten Tomatoes, with Season 4 even achieving the fabled 100%.

What’s The Mentalist About?

The Mentalist follows a former con artist, so-called mentalist Patrick Jane. In the past, he used his abilities to fool people for their money and live posh life; but after a notorious serial killer took his wife and daughter, Jane changed his ways and vowed to avenge them by finding and personally killing the mysterious maniac who did it.

To achieve his goal, Jane turns his ability to read and manipulate people into a different weapon: he joins the homicide squad that’s investigating his family’s murderer’s case and, as a consultant, helps them take down various criminals. All the while, the mentalist keeps his eyes on the main prize, willing to lie and deceive even his new colleagues to get what he wants — revenge, not justice.
