Freddie Benson has suffered at the hands of his single mom for far too long. His long-lost dad needs to show up in the revival and make things right!

In the original series, Marissa's (ex-)husband is nowhere to be seen, and we have no idea if he died, ran off on her and Freddie, or just divorced her.

The only thing we know is that his name might be Leonard (according to the deleted scene from the season 3 episode, iSpeed Date).

With iCarly back and thriving, there are plenty of opportunities to introduce Mr. Benson. Whoever married Marissa must be a pretty fascinatingly patient man!

Since Marissa is now engaged to Lewbert (who isn't a doorman anymore), Mr. Benson's sudden appearance could make for some fun, jealousy-fueled scenes.

Imagine Freddie's dad crashing Marissa and Lewbert's wedding… The episode is just drama, drama, drama, and in the end, the Benson family is whole again.

Or Mr. Benson could just show up at Freddie's doorstep unannounced and provide some crazy explanation for where he has been all this time.

Who could portray such an important character? In an interview with Louis Levanti, Nathan Kress shared his top pick for his on-screen daddy, and we have to say: it makes so much sense.

The actor believes that Ed Helms would do a great job!

Kress pointed out that Ed Helms and Mary Scheer (who plays Marissa) would have so much comedic chemistry that we wouldn't be able to look away from such a dream duo. We want to see that ASAP!

iCarly used to have a lot of celebrity guests back in the day – for instance, One Direction and Michelle Obama made memorable cameo appearances in the original show.

The revival show might follow suit, and Ed Helms could easily be one of the celebrity guest stars. Fingers crossed!
