I Loved Kanthony in Bridgerton Season 3, but Even I Cringed During This Scene
It just doesn’t make any sense.
Even though it wasn't a Kanthony season on Bridgerton, it's always a Kanthony season in my heart, so I was more than happy to see my favorites happier than ever on screen. Of course, with the focus being on Colin and Penelope, I did not expect Anthony and Kate to get much screen time, but the scenes they did get were good enough to make me happy.
One of them, however, didn't fit in with the rest. And although I hate to admit it, since Anthony's motivations were beautifully written into the dialogue, this man would never board a ship to India with his pregnant wife to have their firstborn child so far away from home.
Will Kanthony Be in Bridgerton Season 4?
Given that the show takes 2 years to complete a season, it's hard to say what the production team has in mind for next season. Both Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley sound as excited as they can be to return to the show and lead the Bridgerton family, but at the end of the day, the stars' appearances will depend on the filming schedule.
It's understandable that Bridgerton needed an excuse to send the viscount and viscountess away for a while if they won't have a chance to make a proper comeback. Sailing Anthony and Kate to India instead of simply having them welcome their first child at Aubrey Hall in the country was the most out of character solution they could come up with.
With both Anthony and Kate traumatized by the loss of their loved ones, you would think they would do anything to ensure the safety of their child. And what screams 'safety' more than a months-long trip on a ship to another continent, far from home, money, and the connections the Bridgertons have, right?
Anthony's dedication to making Indian culture a part of their child's upbringing is truly admirable, and I can understand why Kate was so happy with him for it. A newborn, however, wouldn't be able to understand or remember anything about the trip, but his parents would most likely experience all kinds of discomfort.
Sure, it was nice to see them both so excited about their marriage, happy and relaxed, but Anthony is still the head of the household, and Kate is still dedicated to her role as viscountess. Making them careless enough to risk their family and the potential heir to the Bridgerton line was not a cute moment, but lazy writing harmful to their characters.
If you haven't had a chance to check out the third season of Bridgerton, you can stream it on Netflix today, or join me in waiting for the crumbs of season 4.
