The true meaning of Aussie friendship.

When you think of Wolverine, you can't help but think of Hugh Jackman.

Thanks to the many movies he's starred in, the image of the actor with the long claws is forever etched in everyone's mind.

Although Jackman has had several very successful projects outside of the comic book world, it would be safe to say that it was Wolverine that gave him access to the A-list celebrity world.

However, Hugh Jackman wasn't the first choice the producers had in mind for the role. In fact, he wasn't even considered before his name was brought up by another actor, Russell Crowe.

When he turned down the role, thinking he did not look right for the part, he made a counter-proposal, not knowing how much it would affect the trajectory of his friend's career.

"Yeah, but I also suggested him for [Wolverine], too. You know, because look, they show me art and stuff like that, and it's like it doesn't look like me. But, I'll tell you who it looks like, it looks like Hugh Jackman," the actor said on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz.

With X-Men becoming a huge success and the X-Men franchise taking off with the sequel focusing solely on his character, Hugh Jackman has made himself not only the man of the industry but also a fortune.

The actor has reportedly earned around $100 million for all of his appearances as Wolverine, so this can also be added to the list of things Russell Crowe helped him with.

It's nice to see that the friendship between the two actors is still going strong as they both share the same undeniable success in Hollywood.

Jackman shared his warm reaction to Crowe's words on the Instagram story, captioning it with words of gratitude and explaining that the other actor has helped him in countless ways behind the scenes.

If you're up for a trip down memory lane and want to revisit the X-Men films, you can do so by streaming them on Hulu or Disney Plus.
