Three storylines, seven nonlinear episodes, and only one acceptable chronological order.

Quentin Tarantino 's second film, Pulp Fiction, consists of three stories spanning two days. Two hitmen, the wife of a boss, and a boxer who has crossed the wrong person — all three stories end up being intertwined in a 154-minute movie.

And while the movie does not follow a linear timeline, we decided to show you all seven Pulp Fiction episodes in chronological order.

Prelude to Gold Watch

In a flashback scene set in the 1960s, a young Butch Coolidge, portrayed by Bruce Willis, meets Captain Koons, played by Christopher Walken.

A friend of Butch's father, Captain Koons presents Butch with a valuable gold watch that the Coolidge family has treasured for generations.

After Butch's father dies, Captain Koons retrieves the watch and gives it to Butch with a very prominent monologue, ensuring that the family legacy continues.

Prelude to Vincent Vega and Marsellus Wallace's Wife

Hitmen Vincent and Jules, aka John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, appear to be working for Marsellus Wallace — a gang boss.

While driving to confront Marsellus' debtor, Brett, they have a casual conversation about burgers and the French language. The situation turns violent and deadly as soon as they come to Brett's apartment.

With the mysterious briefcase, the hitmen take the last surviving boy, named Marvin, as a hostage and head for Marsellus' house, however, when Vincent accidentally shoots Marvin in the face, he causes the turn of events.

The Bonnie Situation

After the hostage situation, Vincent and Jules, covered in blood, go to the house of Jimmie, Quentin Tarantino, to have the car cleaned and to get rid of Marvin's body.

There they get in touch with Marsellus Wallace, who sends over Winston Wolfe, Harvey Keitel, a professional cleaner in a tuxedo, who professionally assists them in cleaning the car, their own bloody clothes and even provides them with a new wardrobe.

Prologue — The Diner

In this scene, we move to the Hawthorne Grill diner and to a couple of thieves named Pumpkin and Honey Bunny, aka Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer, are contemplating their criminal activities and considering targeting less risky establishments than liquor stores.

In a sudden turn of events, they impulsively decide to rob the diner where they are having breakfast. Little did they know that two previously mentioned hitmen happen to be in the same diner.

Epilogue — The Diner

While Vincent is in the bathroom, Jules negotiates with the robbers, confronting them about taking Marsellus Wallace's briefcase and offering money instead.

Eventually, Pumpkin and Honey Bunny leave with the money, and Jules and Vincent retrieve the briefcase. Later, they meet up with Marsellus and discuss a fixed boxing match with Butch.

The Present-Day Prelude to The Gold Watch

In the present-day part of Pulp Fiction's Gold Watch prelude, we see Butch awakening from a dream in which Koons gives him the gold watch.

Butch is reminded of his family's history of honor and integrity as soldiers. This newfound inspiration leads to a change in his plans, and he decides not to fight the battle as he had planned.

Instead, he fights determinedly and accidentally kills his opponent. To avoid the consequences of Marsellus Wallace's wrath, Butch flees the scene in a taxi.

Vincent Vega And Marsellus Wallace's Wife

As Marsellus Wallace has some business to take care of, Vincent is set to entertain his wife Mia. He takes Marsellus' wife, Mia, to a 1950s-themed restaurant.

They dance, then Mia overdoses on Vincent's heroin, and he rushes her to his drug dealer Lance for help. Mia is revived with an adrenaline shot and Vincent takes her home. The wild night ends with Mia's quirky joke about the tomato family.

The Gold Watch

After he has killed his opponent, Butch plans to go into hiding with his girlfriend, Fabienne. When she forgets to take his father's watch, Butch returns to his apartment and encounters Vincent on the toilet, whom he kills in self-defense.

Butch then runs into Marsellus, and the two of them end up being held hostage in a pawn shop in the hands of some sadistic perverts.

Despite their previous animosity, Butch saves Marsellus from their captors, and in exchange for his silence, Butch agrees to leave town.
