This laugh-out-loud sitcom of the twenty-tens is finally coming to Netflix next month!

Netflix subscribers and devoted followers of the Nine-Nine can at last rejoice as their favorite detectives will be heading to the streaming platform starting next month. The beloved show, which aired from 2013 to 2021 with over 150 episodes, boasts a talented cast of comedic actors, witty writing, and a quirky style that swiftly made the series a smash hit.

Netflix is said to be releasing the first four seasons starting in late February, although we suspect the other episodes are likely to follow throughout the rest of the year.

What is Brooklyn Nine-Nine about?

For those unfamiliar with the show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is set in the fictional 99th Precinct of the New York City Police Department in Brooklyn. Led by the serious and intellectual Captain Raymond Holt, the show follows a team of detectives through their hilarious misadventures.

Over its eight seasons, the series accumulated an impressive 15 awards and received an additional 81 nominations, a testament to its popularity.

What if I'm not subscribed to Netflix?

If you're not a Netflix subscriber, fear not – the Nine-Nine is still available for purchase on Peacock Premium and a number of other services. So whether you're a dedicated Netflix user or have other streaming preferences, you can still catch all the hysterical action.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast

The show's main cast is a stellar lineup of familiar sitcom actors, including Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Chelsea Peretti (until season 6), and Andre Braugher.

Sadly, Braugher, who portrayed the beloved Captain Holt in the series, recently passed away from lung cancer on December 11, 2023. His co-stars and fans alike have expressed deep sadness and shared loving memories of the talented actor across social media.

As well as the fantastic main cast, the sitcom often features numerous recurring guest roles throughout the seasons. Notable actors who make recurring appearances include Kyra Sedgwick as Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch, Craig Robinson as Doug Judy (aka The Pontiac Bandit), and Jason Mantzoukas as Detective Adrian Pimento, among others.

Why you need to re-watch the series again

As if the series' return to Netflix wasn't enough of a reason to watch it again, it's always fun to remind yourself of some of the show's best moments and running jokes. Unlike a lot of other sitcoms, Brooklyn Nine-Nine never shies away from its themed episodes.

The Halloween heist episodes, where the characters compete in elaborate pranks and schemes, stand out as some of the show's best. Not to mention the many other memorable instances, such as Jake's perpetual failure to catch the Pontiac Bandit, Captain Holt's killer exchanges with Wunch, and of course, the Backstreet Boys 'I want it that way' cold open.

Whether you're revisiting your favorite moments or discovering the Nine-Nine for the first time, the show always promises to deliver plenty of laughs and entertainment every time you watch it.

Brooklyn 99 will be available on Netflix from February 26.
