Here's Why You Don't Actually Want Eddie Munson to Survive
Even if you are his biggest fan.
Ever since Stranger Things 4 introduced and almost immediately killed off Joseph Quinn 's Eddie Munson, fans have been mourning the loss of their new favorite.
Almost immediately, social media was filled with various fan theories that predicted that Eddie will be miraculously brought back to life — either in a vampire form to later help defeat Vecna, or in some other way.
However, there is some harsh truth for fans to deal with. Even if the Duffer brothers were to suddenly step away from their official position that Eddie is dead, Hawkins still remembers him as an outcast and a murder suspect.
Few people know that it was Vecna who killed the schoolkids and not Eddie, and this is why his heroic death was probably the best outcome for him.
"If he would come back he would most likely end up in jail, and that's the best case, the worse is that there is an angry mob ready to skin him as a revange for everything, Jason made sure of it and if they would somehow find Jason's body it would made them angry even more," Redditor Majiska394 noted.
The only way for Eddie to have a normal life if he was to return from the dead would be if Hawkins realized what was actually going on. In fact, now that Vecna has caused an Upside Down earthquake in the small town, there is such a possibility. But even if that happens, it's best for Eddie to stay dead.
"But for that to happen Eddie might actually also have to be dead, otherwise they'd just blame him for everything and maybe even raising Vecna. With Eddie being dead, people can see the real villain for who he is," Redditor Youpi_Yeah said.
Still, fans are hopeful to see Quinn's character once again — in fact, the actor himself is somewhat to blame, as his recent comment made during a fan convention in Tokyo could be a vague hint to Eddie coming back.
Writing for Stranger Things 5 has already started, but the dates for shooting and premiere are still to be announced. The fifth season will also be the show's final.
