Here's What Harry Potter's Biggest Star Spent Her First Money On
Harry Potter movies have made a fortune for those involved.
The films have also started successful careers for star child actors. Even without other work in the movie industry Emma Watson has made a ridiculous amount of money just by starring in all eight HP movies. But it turns out the actress wasn't even aware that she's been making that much until her father revealed the numbers.
In an interview with British Vogue actress shared her initial reaction to finding out she was actually rich.
"By the third or fourth film, the money was starting to get serious," says Watson, "I had no idea. I felt sick, very emotional."
It's maybe hard to believe, but world-famous since the first Harry Potter movie Hermione Grainger had no idea how much money she was making. But what did the actress do with all of that money?
When asked about her first splurge with Harry Potter money by Interview Magazine, Watson shared that her purchases were very practical. After giving it a thought, the actress revealed, "Hmm . . . I got myself a laptop." The first buy of the actress is any student's necessity, and Hermione Grainger would approve.
Next on the list was less practical but more fun and selfless splurge. Emma said that she treated her hardworking father to a surprise holiday.
"I took my dad to Tuscany. He works so hard, my dad, so I rang up his secretary and asked when he was free, and I booked us a holiday."
Another purchase that was mentioned was a car actress bought after getting her driving license, "What else? Oh, I got myself a car.I got my license last year, and I love the Prius, even if my friends say it's ugly," says Harry Potter star, adding "They say I drive a brick. And, to be fair, it's not the prettiest car on the road, but it's good for the environment. It's sensible and boring—like me." Watson once again compares herself with her vehicle saying, "I am the Prius of my peer group." Yet another sensible choice, since the actress could afford any sports car or even a collection but chose to go green and is very happy about it.
Emma Watson leaves her fans no choice but to love her even more after sharing how she chose to spend her first big money. A practical and generous actress proves once again that she was the perfect choice for the role that paved her road to fame.
