Here's How Long It Will Take to Tell the Dance Of The Dragons Story Properly
If you are dreading the approaching finale of House of the Dragon's season 1, you can breathe freely.
Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin confirmed in his personal blog post that the prequel will require 4 seasons of 10 episodes each to tell the Dance of the Dragons storyline properly.
Fans greeted the news of 3 more seasons worth of the Dance of Dragons with genuine delight. They started theorizing how the events of the Dance of the Dragons will be spread over the remaining seasons and when the major events like The Battle Above the Gods Eye and the deaths of main characters will happen in the series. The majority seems to agree that The Battle Above the Gods Eye being a huge turning point should end season 2. Some fan theories stated that seasons 2 and 3 would be focused on the war and season 4 on the aftermath.
Besides opening about the length of the series, Martin confirmed a major character for season 2 to the delight of fans.
"YES, Alicent gave Viserys four children, three sons and a daughter, their youngest son Daeron is down in Oldtown, we just did not have the time to work him in this season," he wrote.
According to the show fans on Reddit, being one of the most heroic figures in the entire Dance of the Dragons, young Daeron has the potential to become one of the top 5 fan favorite characters from the series.
There's a Hidden Meaning Behind That Terrifying Viserys' Mask
Besides dropping major confirmations, the author addressed the issue of time jumps, controversial with some viewers. Martin warned it was not his official statement, but rather some "musings" on the subject, before praising the creators of the show for handling the "jumps" very well. Additionally, the author complimented the cast and crew for the work they've done on the latest aired episode, The Lord of the Tides.
Paddy Considine Reveals Viserys' Biggest Mistake
The creator of Game of Thrones stressed the performance of Paddy Considine for his portrayal of King Viserys and called it deserving an Emmy for episode 8 alone, the opinion many fans seem to share. The author admitted that the character of King Viserys in the show was "much more powerful" than his own version in the book, but jokingly refused to rewrite the book.
Earlier in his blog, Martin confessed to looking forward to House of the Dragon season 2 saying "the best is yet to come". That is exactly what all fans anticipate, for sure.
