If you ever thought The Witcher's Geralt had way too little dialogue, here's why: it was all cut out because of Cavill's shenanigans.

We all know that Henry Cavill is the true master of his craft. We also know that his performance peaks when he's in love with his character.

What we didn't know, however, is just how outstanding his subtle acting was — luckily, The Witcher 's writer shed light on this.

Henry Cavill was very excited to play Geralt of Rivia: at this point, if you've never heard his excited speeches about how much he loves The Witcher series, you've been likely living under a rock.

Henry was borderline terrorizing the showrunners long before the script was even ready as he wanted this role badly — and once he finally got approved, the actor was over the moon.

Henry gave his all to this role and amazed not only the audience, but the showrunners, too. His portrayal of the legendary monster hunter was so deep and nuanced even in silence that the writers just...

Entirely removed half of the dialogue scenes!

"Henry brings subtleties to this character, finding emotional resonance in small moments, and playing it in such a subtle way that you understand what the character is going through without necessarily having huge chunks of dialogue," shared Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, The Witcher's writer and showrunner.

In the end, she decided to get rid of dialogue scenes and cut Henry's lines in half: according to Lauren, they were borderline harmful as Cavill's Geralt shined too much in the silent scenes and really didn't need to become any more talkative.

Despite this initial awe, later down the line, Henry Cavill had more and more conflicts with the showrunners.

His strong desire to stay true to the source material made him take a stand every time he felt that the show was mistreating the original books.

The actor was feeling frustrated with the way Netflix approached The Witcher's adaptation and never hid it; eventually, this led to him leaving the series altogether.

Henry Cavill will make his last appearance as Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming season 3 of The Witcher, and this will also be the last chance to admire his silent acting — while also wondering, what could those cut out lines of his possibly contain.
