Another Insider Confirms Henry Cavill’s MCU Debut

While it’s been largely speculated about over the past few months, Henry Cavill’s potential MCU debut is still the talk of the town. Recently, famous industry insider Alex Perez did an online Q&A session with fans and, too, confirmed the rumors about the former Superman flying over to the MCU skyscraper… And gave a hint.

According to Perez, “there is credence” to the rumor that Henry Cavill could portray one of the Wolverine variants in upcoming Deadpool 3. Ultimately, though, the scooper didn’t go too in-depth regarding the star actor’s MCU future. He just promised that Cavill’s new superhero alter-ego would be disclosed this year already.

Henry Cavill’s MCU Rumors Have Fans Divided

Obviously, the very notion of Henry Cavill joining the MCU has fans excited, but there are some reservations, too. While many hope Marvel will treat the actor better than his previous superhero overlords, the uncertainty about his exact role doesn’t instill confidence about whether he will have a bright future in the MCU.

Seeing that Alex Perez borderline confirmed that Cavill could play a Wolverine variant in Deadpool 3, and other insiders didn’t exclude the prospect, many fans are afraid the MCU will waste the actor’s talent on such a minor and forgettable appearance. Variants don’t take the center of the stage and certainly don’t live long, so that role would have been very much below Cavill’s level.

Henry Cavill himself was vocal about wanting to portray Captain Britain in the MCU, but the public discussion didn’t go past his own revelation. Some speculate that Cavill could become the ultimate Cyclops, too… But we’ll see. If Perez is right, we don’t have to wait too long until we learn the truth.
