Henry Cavill Reportedly Joining The MCU To Save It Amid The Majors Crisis
The former Superman star flew over to the Marvel camp, and it’s amazing news.
Summary:
- The rumors about Henry Cavill portraying Doctor Doom in the MCU have already been debunked.
- However, according to a famous industry insider, Cavill accepted a different offer from Marvel.
- Fans’ best bet so far is Captain Britain since the actor has long wanted to portray this superhero.
There’s only a handful of actors who have starred in both DC and Marvel live-action movies, and Henry Cavill might be joining their ranks soon. Since being stripped of his iconic red cape, the former Superman actor hasn’t picked up another superhero gig — but as reports suggest, Cavill was just waiting for the perfect offer.
Henry Cavill To Join The MCU, Report Claims
Recently, the Internet was plagued with the “confirmed” rumors about Henry Cavill joining the MCU as Doctor Doom to save the franchise amid the Jonathan Majors controversy. All such reports have been proven false since then, but if you felt excited about the prospect of Cavill’s appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, worry not: he’s still going to join the ranks of the iconic superheroes.
At least, that’s what the famous industry insider MyTimeToShineHello claimed on their X (formerly Twitter). According to the scooper, Henry Cavill “was offered something else and he accepted,” meaning that not Doctor Doom but another MCU role is awaiting The Witcher star. Which one, however, had not been disclosed.
Fans Guessed Henry Cavill’s New Role Right
While not openly confirming the role, MyTimeToShineHello hinted that some of the fans guessed Cavill’s new superhero alter-ego correctly. We’ll take this hint as our best bet: let’s see what guesses were the most popular among the MCU fans.
Hyperion, Sentry, Galactus, Nova, Cyclops, and even Ghost Rider (though the latter should totally be booked by Ryan Gosling ) are all pretty common guesses. But thanks to Henry Cavill’s older comments to THR, most fans tend to agree that it’s most likely Captain Britain, the character Cavill has been long wanting to play.
“I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British,” Cavill shared.
It might be quite a while before we learn the truth, so it’s high time to grab some patience and popcorn and wait. We’ll tell you as soon as we learn anything.
