Get this man back in his blonde wig!
Summary:
- Game of Thrones was an HBO fantasy drama that aired from 2011 to 2019.
- The show already has a prequel House of The Drama, but plans to dig even deeper into Targaryen history with another show based on the story of Aegon's conquest.
- Excited to see another George R.R. Martin story get an adaptation, fans are already suggesting perfect casting options.
If you're already missing the chaos of House Targaryen in the Game of Thrones universe, don't worry too much, because you're in for a treat. On the heels of the news that House of The Dragon season 2 will be released this summer, HBO has announced another prequel that will explore the history of the dragon-riding family even further into the past.
Based on the story of Aegon the Conqueror, who was mentioned in the first season of House of The Dragon and served as the inspiration for the name of the Green King Aegon II, the show is sure to bring more of everything we love about the universe. More blonde wigs, more questionable incestuous relationships, and more dragons.
In anticipation, fans of the story are already throwing around names of actors they would like to see cast.
Aegon Targaryen Fancast
Although the fans who want more book accuracy in the movies would disagree, many people want to see Aegon portrayed by Henry Cavill. Although he doesn't really match the hero's age or appearance, people can't get the image of the actor in Geralt's wig out of their minds.
Other options that have caught the fandom's eye for Aegon include Callum Turner, who recently stole viewers' hearts as Major John Egan in Masters of the Air, or natural blond Charlie Hunnam, best known as Jax Teller in FX's Sons of Anarchy.
Rhaenys and Visenya Targaryen Fancast
If your mind immediately goes to House of the Dragon's Eve Best, you're thinking of the wrong Rhaenys. This one, the sister and wife of Aegon, looks more like Jessica Alexander or Rose Williams in the eyes of the audience.
But knowing that HBO doesn't have to follow the book's restrictions, some people go further and suggest less obvious choices. The Bear 's star and the Internet darling Ayo Edebiri is one of them.
Of course, since two of the characters are supposed to be sisters and share the same traits, the same actresses are often mentioned for both. Katheryn Winnick, Amber Heard, and Anya Taylor-Joy are also frequently mentioned by fans as perfect options.
While all of the above actresses and actors would probably make perfect Targaryens, we will have to wait and see what HBO decides. Stay tuned for more news and behind-the-scenes updates!
