Haunting In Venice: Why Is New Hercule Poirot Movie Already a Top-Tier?

Kenneth Branagh unveiled a trailer for his third Hercule Poirot film and it immediately caught the attention of viewers.

Although fans and critics were divided in their opinions of his two previous Agatha Christie-inspired films, Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, the trailer for the upcoming film has just revealed that a new story will be much more entertaining as it's full of mystery, intrigue, and suspense.

The new movie will be set in a more refreshing place than the two previous parts, which told their stories being on a vehicle — a train and a bot.

This time, the setting is a haunted house in the beautiful Italian city of Venice.

The movie follows Poirot as he is called to investigate a series of thrilling events that take place in a labyrinthine palazzo.

As he dives deeper into the case, Poirot discovers a dark and sinister past that haunts not only the palazzo, but also those who reside within it.

The atmosphere of tension and mystery gives a movie a promising perspective.

The dark cinematography and enigmatic voice-over in the trailer slowly build suspense and keep viewers on the edge of their seats while it all is accompanied by gloomy music — written by none other than an Academy Award-winning composer, Hildur Guðnadóttir, who scored Joker.

A distinctive plot, chilling visuals, and a somber score are not the only things that promise success for the film.

The trailer also reveals an ensemble cast of talented actors, including Jamie Dornan and Jude Hill, who worked with Kenneth on his semi-autobiographical film, and an outstanding Oscar-winner Michele Yeoh, whose name's been on the people's tongue for the past months.
