Sirius Black is the most beloved character for many Potterheads, but the fans that only saw the movies consider him a significantly better person than he really was.

It won't be an exaggeration to suggest that Harry Potter 's Godfather, Sirius Black, is one of the most memorable characters in the entire franchise.

Ever since his first appearance in The Prisoner of Azkaban, Sirius has lived in his godson's head rent-free, being the only person that was left of Harry's family he never knew.

However, there's a huge difference between the book Sirius and the movie Sirius. The movie fans typically see nothing wrong with Harry's Godfather and consider him a kind and considerate man…

While Sirius Black wasn't the worst person in the books either, he was way more questionable and even aggressive at times. For one, the movies cut out the dialogue between Sirius and Harry where the Animagus was rather cruel toward his godson.

It was during Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts, and Sirius was as close with Harry then as he ever got as they were both frustrated with Albus Dumbledore for keeping them away from the action.

It was incredibly infuriating for Harry, but even worse for Sirius who'd just spent a dozen years in prison and two more years on the run.

Sirius wanted to take an active part in the brewing war and fight the Death Eaters, but he was locked in his hated childhood house, feeling useless, humiliated, and terribly frustrated.

In the books, this led to Black gradually becoming more irritated and hostile to others by the day; still, Harry didn't mind him as he thought that his Godfather felt the same way he did.

But Harry underestimated Sirius's frustration and one day, the Animagus turned his anger toward his godson.

When Sirius suggested he and Harry meet at Hogsmeade with Sirius disguised as a dog, Harry was scared that some might recognize and capture his Godfather, so he refused.

His response disappointed and angered Sirius, who in turn said:

"You're less like your father than I thought. The risk would've been what made it fun for James," and with that, Sirius swiftly bid his farewell.

This phrase kept bugging Harry for a long time — and his Godfather's attitude made the boy even more worried for Black's safety…

And that eventually resulted in him falling for Voldemort's trap which in turn led to Sirius Black's premature death.

The movies never showed this scene, though, and the fans that haven't read the books still think that Harry's Godfather was nothing but kind and considerate to him.
