Gripping 98%-Rated Post-Apocalypse Dystopia to Ease the Wait For Silo S2
Rebuilding the world isn’t exactly the easiest task…
The fantasy genre is so wide in variety it actually seems hard to call a sci-fi dystopia one. But what is it though? A series about a deadly flu that kills people and almost brings the world to an end sounds like a totally made-up thing, hopefully…
But we still have a particular name for shows like that: we call them post-apocalyptic. There are many series in this subgenre, but they all are quite about the same. However, there are several standouts.
For example, the 2023 series Silo made quite a splash in the world, as while being a post-apocalypse dystopia, it didn’t actually mention whatever it was that resulted in people living in an underground silo. Besides, it left us all longing for a season 2 which currently doesn’t even have a premiere date.
Well, it’s a good thing there is another outstanding series with a similar premise is a miniseries called Station Eleven. It's actually a post-apocalyptic saga that spans multiple timelines and tells the stories of survivors of a devastating flu.
The story unfolds as they do their best to rebuild and reimagine the world while holding on to the best of what's been lost. Those survivors are a Hollywood star and a group of actors, who travel back-and forth in time in an attempt to recreate the world they once knew.
Station Eleven is not your typical end of the world movie: it dives a lot deeper into the emotions and brings out whatever hidden fear you have inside.
“I couldn't even binge this show because every episode was so powerful that I was stuck in my head thinking about it for the rest of the day. It is absolutely phenomenal. I'm a 29 year old man and during the final episode I was bawling my eyes out. I never have a strong emotional reaction over shows and movies but here you could have thought I was at a funeral or something,” Redditor Regula96 said.
So, if you need the wait for Silo season 2 to feel less excruciating, Station Eleven is available to stream on Prime.
