The Last Jedi, TV shows, the end of the Skywalker saga and even the video game Jedi: Survivor have prepared us for the new world that is not only black and white, but filled with ambiguity.

However, not all fans share this enthusiasm for the latest development of Star Wars.

The concept of the Gray Jedi has been a topic of discussion among the fans for quite a while.

Some believe that the idea of walking the line between the light and dark sides of the Force could bring a new level of complexity to the Star Wars universe.

Others, however, argue that this vision could potentially ruin the entire franchise.

The fundamental problem with the Gray Jedi concept is that it undermines the central conflict of Star Wars: the struggle between the light and dark sides of the Force.

The Jedi Order was founded to protect the galaxy from the dark side of the Force and to maintain peace and justice. The Sith, on the other hand, seek to dominate and control through this power.

The conflict between the two has been an integral part of the universe for decades.

Gray Jedi in the Star Wars universe will blur the lines between the good and evil. It would undermine the core conflict of the franchise, and the audience would no longer be able to distinguish between the two sides.

Though the idea of a gray morality seems more mature than it used to be in Star Wars, many fans appreciate it while others don't.

"… I've always loved Lucas' idea regarding The Force. To him, balance is the absence of the Dark Side… You don't achieve balance with the Dark Side.

You don't tap into the Dark Side occasionally [...] The Dark Side is fueled only by selfish, negative, and possessive emotions. I. The Light Side is about selfishness," says Redditor revanchisto.

This Star Wars thread generated a huge discussion, and the audience agrees to call them "someone who can use the Force," but not a Jedi, because they know nothing of the way of the Knights or the Sith.

Of course, recent Star Wars projects are more involved with the concept of gray morality, but most of the fans like it, so the authors insist on such a vision of the world.

In the latest game, Сal Kestis almost became a bad boy who slaughters everyone with a lightsaber, but he manages to stop in time.

It's still a controversial topic, the audience is divided, so there's no right or wrong. Well, as we know, only a Sith deals in absolutes.
