Grammys 2022: Who Will Win in the Main Categories?
A week after the Oscars, the Grammys are coming back on April 3. The 64th Grammy Awards will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Jon Batiste received the most nominations this year, followed by Doja Cat, H.E.R., and Justin Bieber. List of performers at the Grammys includes some pretty big names: Batiste, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, Olivia Rodrigo, H.E.R., Chris Stapleton, Brothers Osborne, BTS, Brandi Carlile and Nas. Foo Fighters were also scheduled to perform but it was before the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins. Kanye West was banned from performing this year due to his “concerning online behavior.”
Most music reviewers believe that Olivia Rodrigo most likely will win In the Best New Artist category. She seems destined to follow in Billie Eilish’s 2020 footsteps and take the top four categories including Best Pop Vocal Album. But in this category she has quite strong rivals – Arooj Aftab and Japanese Breakfast.
According to some music critics, the awards for the Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year will surely go to Rodrigo’s album ‘Drivers License’ and its eponymous single.
In the Best Rock Song category Paul McCartney and Foo Fighters are considered as the most likely winners. Deftones and Black Pumas have all chances to get the award for the Best Rock Performance.
The award for the Best Rock Album most likely will go to Foo Fighters. The Best Rap Album will certainly become Tyler, The Creator’s ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’.
Japanese Breakfast's 'Jubilee' or St. Vincent's 'Daddy’s Home' will apparently get the Best Alternative Music Album award.
Tyler Childers or Mary Chapin Carpenter from all appearances will win in the Best Folk Album category. The award for the Best Progressive R&B Album should be given to Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, 9th Wonder, & Kamasi Washington and their ‘Dinner Party: Dessert’.
