Good Omens S2 Teases To Be Very Similar To Doctor Who In The Most Creative Way Possible
Look out for great surprises!
If there's one thing to be said for Neil Gaiman, it's that he's always willing to explore more bizarre parts of the supernatural universe of Good Omens. The second season promises to be even more creative, as the story now relies entirely on Neil Gaiman's original script, and is not connected to anything from the original book except for the same characters.
As teased by the sequel's production team, the story picks up a few years after both Crowley and Aziraphael managed to outwit their headquarters and were left on Earth by mutual agreement. Things have changed, not only for the two main characters but for the world around them.
For example, viewers will definitely notice some changes in the cast. Although there are a few actors returning to the project besides David Tennant and Michael Sheen, who will be reprising their roles, they may surprise you by showing up in completely new and unexpected looks.
Neil Gaiman himself noted this fun detail about Good Omens Season 2 in an interview for the behind-the-scenes featurette released at Comic-Con:
"Shelley Conn came in as Beelzebub, and it feels in a weird way kind of like the Doctor Who regeneration," the author said.
It's not just the leader of Hell that's changing. As teased in both the trailer and many interviews, several other actors will be getting a new character to work with this season.
Reece Shearsmith, who appeared as Shakespeare in Season 1, will return in the form of a new demon, Furfur. Maggie Service and Nina Sosanya, who gave brilliant performances as satanic nuns, will be back as small business owners Maggie and Nina.
And Miranda Richardson, known as Madame Tracy, will take on the role of Shax, the demon sent to Earth to replace Crowley. You'll have to see for yourself if she'll be more successful in bringing misery and despair to Earth.
Good Omens Season 2 is already available on Amazon Prime Video, so waste no time and immerse yourself in the flawed universe between Heaven and Hell.
