Gold Rush, now at Season 13, is a major success on the Discovery Channel, enjoying popularity uncommon for reality TV shows.

And much of its success it probably owes to Parker Schnabel. Early in the show, Schnabel's grandfather transferred the Big Nugget mine to him.

Since then Schnabel quickly became the show's central figure. Leading his crews, he not only managed to mine the most gold by far, out of all people whose exploits the show tracks, but turn his work into a something that looks fascinating on TV.

He has proven his skills as a miner, took significant risks with his business, extended his operations to Alaska, mentored freshly recruited employees, butted heads with a landowner, and managed to grow as a man and a professional right before the audience's eyes.

Schnabel resilience, knack for mining and strong personality made him one of, if not the most captivating personality on the show.

Yet besides his success and admirable character traits, there is one more thing about Schnabel which the show's regulars long have noticed. As a quick Internet search might easily demonstrate, Schnabel bears more than a passing resemblance to actor Adam Driver, famed for his roles on Star Wars and Girls. Just look at this compilation:

And remarkably, Parker Schnabel himself agrees with the fans on this point. In an interview with Hidden Remote, he not only acknowledged the similarity, but even expressed his intent to make himself look even more like Driver – though given the tone of his answer, he might have said that in jest

"I'm working on growing my hair so I can slick it back like his," he told the interviewer after noting that he was the fourth reporter who remarked on his Driver-ish appearance earlier that day – probably also a bit of exaggeration. "Just give me a little time, and I'll get there."

The interviewer also suggested that Schnabel team up with Driver on "Saturday Night Live." Well, seeing that might have been interesting, but this idea probably would never go beyond an off-hand suggestion.
