Nobody expected a new romcom to hit this hard, yet here we are.

It’s been only several days since Netflix dropped its brand new romantic action comedy Hit Man, starring Anyone But You’s Glen Powell, and the movie has been quick to demonstrate impressive results not only with its audience.

Apart from all the praise it got from professional critics, Hit Man received a big portion of attention from the streaming’s subscribers. According to the most recent data from FlixPatrol, the movie is now holding a number one position in Netflix’s American top 10 chart.

What Is Hit Man About?

Directed by Oscar nominee Richard Linklater, Hit Man follows seemingly harmless professor Gary Johnson who, as soon as the night falls, turns into a fake hitman for the New Orleans Police Department. Having no trouble with adopting all kinds of different looks and personalities, Gary embarks on a new case which leads him to a potentially criminal, yet very beautiful young woman named Madison.

When the latter falls victim to one of Gary’s hitman personas and develops feelings for him, the character’s undercover career gets pretty much jeopardized by all the role-playing and high stakes.

Additionally, the movie got all the possible praise, landing scores of 97% and 93% from professionals and viewers respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, with many pointing out the performances of the leads and claiming that it’s surely one of the year’s best films.
