We’re doomed to always expect the worst.

While The Big Bang Theory was a runaway success in 2007, no one knew that its family-oriented prequel, which premiered a decade later in 2017, would end up being even more popular than its predecessor. Young Sheldon was so relatable to so many viewers that they couldn't stay away from the show.

But no matter how beloved Young Sheldon was by CBS viewers, there was one detail that spoiled the viewing experience for many. Knowing that George Sr. was doomed to die, viewers could not relax, always expecting the worst. Now the same feeling is about to haunt audiences of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

Will Georgie Cooper and Mandy Get Divorced?

Although Young Sheldon took many creative liberties over the course of its seven-season run, the show was still tied to what audiences knew from The Big Bang Theory. When creating the Cooper family lore back then, the writers didn't know how it would affect their projects in the future, but now rewriting history is no longer an option.

Just as it was outlined in The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon's father, George Cooper, ended up dying of heart problems at the end of Young Sheldon. Now that everyone is turning their attention to the show's new spinoff, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, viewers will expect the couple to break up and divorce.

Accepting this and trying to make the best of it, the show's creators seem to be teasing the upcoming divorce in a title. The 'first marriage' is vague enough for casual viewers not to think too much about it, but it hints at the problems the young couple will face in the near future.

The good thing is that divorce is not as final as death, so things can still change for Georgie and Mandy. Who knows, maybe their second marriage will be much more successful than the first. But to find out, we will have to wait and see where the show takes its characters.
