General Hospital’s Rena Sofer Is Back as Lois Cerullo, but There Is a Twist
Expect Lois to reach her full potential, and even more.
Ever since Eddie Maine seemed to have come back in Port Charles as a result of Ned Quartermaine's amnesia, fans have been wondering if we're going to see Lois Cerullo.
Since they were the super couple of the '90s that parted ways a long time ago, viewers would be surprised if there is any romance left in their relationship.
However, they're sure that Lois would be the only one to get the real Ned back.
Rena Sofer, the actress who was first to portray Lois, is one of the main reasons why fans are so excited to see the character again. No recasting could ever do Cerullo's storyline any good, but the chemistry of the original duo is sure to boost General Hospital 's ratings.
While most of what we know about Lois' comeback is the conjecture based on a number of connections she still has in Port Charles, Sofer is happy to tease a thing or two. In her most recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, the star mentioned how strange it was to return to the character, who was still very young in our minds, almost three years later.
She also made a few statements about what the audience can expect from Lois’ arc storywise:
“This story isn’t about me. The story is about Brook Lynn. The story is about Eddie Maine and Ned, so I need to respect that. This is not about me coming back and telling my story; this is about me coming back and supporting the stories that are there with me trying to create the knowledge of who Lois is now, 27 years later,” the actress said.
With those words alone, it is clear that Lois' stay in Port Charles will not last long. As much as fans would like to see her again as a series regular, this comeback has to be part of the big 60th-anniversary celebration that General Hospital is hosting this year. So fans should set their expectations accordingly.
Sofer will be back on the screens of General Hospital viewers starting October 10, so be sure to tune in to the soap Monday through Friday not to miss any important developments in both Eddie and Lois' storylines.
