A punching bag no more, Nina may finally show her teeth.

It's no secret that many General Hospital fans don't seem to care much about the never-ending drama surrounding Sonny and Carly Corinthos.

As much as people enjoyed their characters back in the day, now everything about their relationship feels forced, and it almost feels like nothing could rekindle that long-ago interest.

Although the premise of Sonny getting amnesia and finding his way to Nina had some potential to further develop his character, it didn't end up happening. If anything, most viewers felt there was no future for the couple from the beginning. It was only a matter of time before Sonny got his memory back and Nina confronted Carly.

Just as predicted, the whole storyline turned out to be a messy standoff between two perfectly imperfect blondes, first involving Sonny as a person of interest and then intertwining with Willow.

Though it might have been entertaining for a few episodes, General Hospital's tendency to drag storylines to the point of unwatchability prevailed, and this one became just as repetitive and boring. No matter whose side you are on, there seems to be no winner.

Now that Nina has finally reached the point of no return with her anger at Carly (and, frankly, at everything around her in Port Charles), many people believe that her anger will be used to move the plot forward.

Standing up to Carly and tipping off the SEC about her insider trading could be just what General Hospital needs to take a step forward and end this mess of a storyline.

Since many viewers aren't really waiting for it, but really believe in the writers' dedication to bringing Sonny and Carly back, it's almost expected that he'll put things on hold with Nina. Even though Willow is slowly warming up and even wants to let Nina into her circle of visitors now, their relationship would probably go stale, too.

Maybe this will be the turning point for a woman with nothing left to lose to turn into a full-on villain.

If you want to see how Nina's story unfolds and if she ends up being a worse enemy than Carly Corinthos herself, be sure to tune in to ABC Monday through Friday so you don't miss another episode of General Hospital.
