Not everyone is happy with this wave of nostalgia coming to Port Charles.

With General Hospital celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, it's no surprise that the showrunners honored some loyal long-time viewers with a few nostalgic surprises.

With some soap veterans returning and some older storylines resurfacing, viewers are getting more and more excited about what they see each week.

However, not every storyline needs to be revisited. As much as we all loved General Hospital's original Hannah Montana, Ned Ashton, no one ever thought he would return to his 90's alter ego, Eddie Maine.

While it may just be a silly nod to his past, in which case it would be totally appropriate, fans are worried that Eddie might stick around for longer than necessary.

While many appreciate the character's path of living two lives and having to choose between them, they also think it would be nice to see his final decision which was made many years ago respected.

Certainly, Ned is not in his right mind. Literally, as he doesn't seem to remember his first and primary identity at all.

But that doesn't change the fact that his departure to pursue the Eddie Maine dream will affect everything he's worked so hard for.

And as much as the audience would love to see Rena Sofer or Lesli Kay back as Lois, would it really be worth it?

General Hospital is already cringy enough with half of its modern storylines. Adding another amnesia that ends with a 64-year-old Wally Kurth putting on his leather pants and dancing around the stage like nothing in his past life matters seems like too much for the fandom to handle.

Perhaps, that one door to the '90s should've stayed closed. Whether or not the amnesia will last and result in another messy romance between Ned and Lois, we will have to wait and see.

Tune in to General Hospital Monday through Friday on ABC to not miss another crazy surprise from the writers and to see if Eddie Maine is here to stay.
