General Hospital's Sonny And Dex's Arc Doesn't Make Any Sense, Unless…
Let's just say, the audience is ready for another big revelation.
The "secret family" trope is one of the best classics any soap can offer. It's hard to even guess how many times during General Hospital 's 60-year run, viewers have learned that yet another set of characters are related in some way, but the number must be close to four digits.
Mothers, fathers and their children, sisters and brothers, cousins, uncles and aunts – the possibilities are endless!
Even better, this trope can explain almost anything when writers feel stuck. This is exactly what fans think is happening with Sonny and Dex right now.
After the very negative reaction to the Willow and Nina story, it would be pretty risky for the writers to go back into the family territory.
Especially in such a short time. However, it feels like that is exactly what is going to happen. And frankly, many would agree that it would be a better solution than ending it any other way.
While the story of Nina being Willow's biological mother felt forced, only because it seemed to be created to make Nina negative and give Carly another enemy to show off against, this one idea feels more thought out.
To make everything fall into place even more, viewers think the best thing the writers can do is to make Dex Courtney's son hum to both Sonny and Spencer.
Not only would that be a perfect explanation for all the manufactured beef between the two, but it would also be an extremely entertaining storyline to watch.
Although General Hospital fans have already learned to be careful with their wishes, the decision to go this route is already too much on the nose and feels like the only one they would make.
If this is not the case, the storyline would raise even more questions among the audience.
And even with the show's long history of stories being dropped or forced on viewers without any consequences, people are still willing to believe that this would not be the case.
To not miss a bit of Dex and Sonny's arc, and see where it was heading all along, tune in to ABC Monday to Friday for new General Hospital episodes.
