General Hospital's Rena Sofer Revealed What Stressed Her Out The Most Upon Comeback

After 60 years on the air, General Hospital is struggling to keep its audience surprised. They've seen so many twisted storylines and mind games that the soap has become quite predictable. And even the biggest anniversary comebacks were not only called, but almost demanded by viewers.
While some were shocked to see Ned Quartermaine return to his alter-ego, Eddie Maine, others were already trying to connect the dots between this and another iconic character return that this transformation could mean. While Ned has clearly made his choice in the past, Eddie has always needed his Lois by his side.
And now, with the news of Rena Sofer's return to the role, no one in the fandom could be happier.
The actress, on the other hand, has been very open about all the pressure she has felt over the idea of her return. She mentioned it in an interview with Soap Opera Digest. Turns out, there was one little detail about her appearance that helped her focus on her work and get back into character almost immediately: Lois' signature manicure.
“So one of the makeup artists in the makeup room has a cousin named Amber who is a professional nail artist, so I went and visited Amber. We sat down for three hours, we went through all the wardrobe that we had picked so far and we just created. And then once the nails were on, it was like nothing changed; it was amazing,” the actress shared.
Of course, there was a level of general anxiety that haunted the actress upon her return to the project. While the overwhelming love from all General Hospital viewers made it easier to come back, there was also a lot of pressure to work through. Fortunately, being the professional that she is, Sofer was able to get into acting mode and enjoy herself on set as Lois.
