All he needs is one very special visitor from the past.

When news of Eddie Maine's return to Port Charles hit the Internet, many General Hospital fans were thrilled. The music star's alter ego of Ned Quartermaine made his return in celebration of General Hospital's 60th anniversary, as his double-life storyline was arguably one of the most iconic plots of the '90s.

Viewers were thrilled, thinking that the effects of Ned's amnesia wouldn't last long enough for the story to become tired and cringe-worthy.

Without knowing any details, many believed that Eddie Maine would reappear for just a few episodes to create a wave of fun and lighthearted nostalgia. As it turns out, that's not what the writers had in mind.

Now that Eddie has been blessing fans with his appearances for three months, many have lost all hope of seeing Ned again. Although he made the decision to leave his singing career behind and pursue a more stable business life, it feels like it wasn't the right choice.

As Eddie's performances get worse and harder to watch, many fans feel that General Hospital may be doing this on purpose to show Ned's inner struggle.

After all, today's Ned is a far cry from the person he was in 1993. The past 30 years have made him a lot richer, but also a lot older, which is why it's so sad to see him desperately trying to hold on to what's left of his happy past.

While some viewers believe that this dissatisfaction with his life would find no resolution, others think that General Hospital could bring back someone very special to complete the picture.

Perhaps the return of Lois, who was the key element to his stage happiness back in the day, could also unlock the same happiness in Ned.

The comeback of Rena Sofer as Lois has been highly speculated since Eddie's return, but there have been no statements from the actress herself or the General Hospital production team to support it.

To see where the story takes Eddie Maine in the nearest future, and whether Lois will make a quick stop in Port Charles anytime soon, make sure to tune in to ABC Monday through Friday to not miss another General Hospital episode!
