General Hospital Pulled Off Hannah Montana Storyline When Hannah Montana Was Still A Baby
Who knows, maybe they were the source of Disney's inspiration.
When you think of General Hospital, you probably think of either the doctors and the medical aspect of the soap, or the crime and Sonny Corinthos as its leader.
However, there have been many even crazier storylines over the years that fans of the current run may not even believe happened.
One of the craziest storylines was created in 1993 by Wally Kurth's character Ned Ashton, who would later take his mother's maiden name and become Ned Quartermaine.
One day he decides to give performing a try, goes on stage, and gives it his all as Eddie Maine. Needless to say, the performance changed his life.
Ned Ashton has been forced to live two lives at once for quite some time, constantly choosing between his passion for music and his true wife (and record manager) Lois and the Quartermaine family business ELQ along with the woman he was basically forced to marry back in Port Charles.
Just as Miley Cyrus had to make her choice in Disney 's iconic Hannah Montana series, Ned Ashton has to make one too.
And considering his age, position, and considerable family responsibilities, he decides to stay in the business and put away his performer's suite.
Luckily for the audience, they could still enjoy Eddie Maine's Nurse's Ball performances over the years.
Much like the Nurse's Ball in the General Hospital universe, Wally Kurth and the actual band he formed were able to use their passion for music for good by raising money for the Ryan White Foundation, which supports people living with HIV.
This may be the best case of life imitating soap opera art ever.
