It couldn’t get any worse, or so we thought.

While soap operas all over US television try to follow the latest trends and stay relevant in the modern years, sometimes it ends in a disaster. Especially when the writers don't come from a place of compassion or experience, which is always very noticeable from the viewer’s point of view.

With Blaze and Kristina, General Hospital had a great opportunity to push LGBTQ+ representation in soaps further than ever before, and the show had its fans on its side. However, they seem to have completely lost the plot, both literally and figuratively, and now people are rightfully angry about the ideas they are promoting.

Did Kristina and Blaze Forgive Natalia?

In one of the most bizarre chain of events to take place in Port Charles in recent memory, Kristina and Blaze end up sitting down with Perez Hilton, who discusses the difficult situation they ended up in because of Blaze's mother's judgmental views of their relationship.

However, when Kristina speaks, she states that they are not the victims in this situation. Natalia, on the other hand, is. And while many viewers couldn't care less about the couple and the obstacles they face, they do care about the hurtful message General Hospital is now helping to spread through its storylines, which deserve the backlash they're getting.

By calling Natalia's homophobia 'her views' and saying she is entitled to them, the show is enabling the same behavior in its viewers. In addition, it states that everyone whose bigotry has been exposed is a victim, which only adds to the disappointment of fans.

If viewers wanted to have equal representation before, they now urge soap producers to stay away from queer characters.

And at this point, the writers have taken the whole story so far that no openly gay guest star in a striking pink suit could ever convince them that the General Hospital writers' room is not deeply homophobic. Otherwise, Natalia would get the shame she deserves, and Ava would not end up being a bad guy for all the wrong reasons.

If you are still interested in seeing how Natalia will act now that she has basically been given the green light to do whatever she wants, be sure to tune in to General Hospital Monday through Friday on ABC.
