The audience fears that this would not be the last wrong decision showrunners make.

2023 certainly hasn't been a good year for General Hospital so far.

With all due respect to the show that has managed to stay on the air for over 60 years, it is clear that the writers are struggling to come up with ideas and storylines that will impress viewers.

Not only that, but the show continues to lose its most outstanding talent.

Another loss for the General Hospital cast was announced in a recent episode when Victor Cassadine, portrayed by Charles Shaughnessy, passed away.

While some fans can't believe that the writers would kill off such an important character who has been on the show for many years, others find it believable because of his dead body shown on screen.

Unfortunately, this news is not the breath of fresh air fans were hoping for.

Tired of the constant favoring of Carly and Joss and the overused disease storylines, viewers are asking the showrunners to make more creative choices, but not to get rid of charismatic anti-heroes with great potential.

Whether you thought Victor had so much more potential for mayhem, it's time to say goodbye to all of it. Any hopes for the impressive Victor and Laura showdown, which could have been an actually interesting revenge arc, are gone.

The killing streak, which mostly involves the soap's villains, was also noticed by fans when Victor was added to the pile.

First, it was Faison, then Ryan, and now they're taking another one, but they don't seem to be giving anyone like them in return.

This makes fans even more upset because it's impossible to imagine any soap, let alone a good one, without some strong antagonists.

Whether or not General Hospital will be able to create a replacement for Victor Cassadine that is at least as powerful and interesting, we'll have to wait and see.

After all, any character can find their way back to life on soap if the writers want it bad enough, so this could be the case.

Tune in to ABC Monday through Friday to never miss an episode of General Hospital.
