The fandom is split.

Summary:

  • General Hospital is an ABC soap opera that has been on the air since 1963.
  • Jason Morgan, now portrayed by Steve Burton, was introduced in 1983 and had a complicated love story with Carly Spencer.
  • Now that Jason is back in Port Charles, fans sense another reunion, but aren't too happy about it.

There is nothing more exciting than someone coming back from the dead in a soap opera. General Hospital may have used this little trick a little too often, but it still keeps the audience intrigued. Although some viewers think that Jason is one of those characters that should be written off, others think that he still has some potential.

First of all, there is every reason to believe that Jason was Sonny's mystery shooter. If that's true, there's a lot of drama to explore between the two when Jason returns. However, Sonny wouldn't be the only Corinthos in line to get their hands on Jason.

Many fans believe that Jason and Carly's romance, which started all the way back in 1996, will also be revived. After all, why else would Carly so conveniently cut ties with Drew if not to welcome a much stronger feeling back into her life?

Will General Hospital’s Carly and Jason Get Back Together?

The recent breakup with Drew, based on his very aggressive Nina-bashing, would definitely be good for Carly in any scenario. We've already accepted that she can do no wrong in the eyes of the writers, so it's time to speculate about what door this breakup will open for her.

Considering that Sonny is now going through a divorce with Nina, Carly might as well go back to him. However, that prospect doesn't seem as exciting to viewers as seeing her all over the recently resurrected Jason. Even if Sonny and Carly are going to be endgame, there is certainly time for one more jump with Jarly.

However, not everyone is as invested in this romance as long-time viewers. While some General Hospital viewers think there's still something interesting to explore with these two, others think that nearly three decades on TV has shown more than enough, and it's time to focus on someone new...or revisit something old, but more exciting.

Another romance that still has many viewers hooked is that of Jason and Liz.

Even though we last saw them kiss in the early 2010s, and they decided to remain co-parenting friends before that, when has that ever stopped General Hospital from going for the drama and bringing the spark back?

Regardless of which couple you're more excited to see, Jason's return promises to shake up life in Port Charles. So keep an eye out for more news and updates and tune in to General Hospital Monday through Friday on ABC.
